FORMATION JOURNEY OF THE FRANCISCAN HOSPITALLER SISTERS

Aspirancy – Reception and Discovery

The journey begins with the aspirancy, a time of accompaniment and discernment. Young candidates are welcomed into community life, experiencing the rhythm of prayer and fraternity as they explore their vocation.

Postulancy – Preparation and Growth

In the postulancy, discernment deepens. Aspirants gradually enter consecrated life, strengthening their human and Christian formation while testing their readiness for the Franciscan Hospitaller charism.

Novitiate – Initiation and Commitment

The novitiate marks the true beginning of consecrated life. Here, novices immerse themselves in prayer, community, and apostolic service. It is a school of faith where intimacy with God grows, and the call to follow Christ in poverty, chastity, and obedience becomes a lived choice.

Juniorate – Consolidation and Belonging

Between first and perpetual profession, the juniorate focuses on identity and belonging. Sisters balance study, work, and apostolic service with community life, ensuring that their mission flows from deep intimacy with God.

Ongoing Formation – A Lifelong Journey

Formation does not end with vows. It is a lifelong process, shaping the whole person—her motivations, attitudes, and relationship with God. Every stage builds toward a life of mercy, hospitality, and service.

MISSION

Mission of Merciful Hospitality

We live a mission, pure and true,

Reflecting God’s love in all we do.

Hospitality warms, mercy’s light we share,

Building homes of welcome, with tender care.

We comfort the weary, uplift the poor,

With kindness that opens every door.

Our lamp of service shines bright each day,

Guiding hearts with hope along the way.
